About the study

A study of the lifestyles, habits, brand preferences and social attitudes of people under 45 identifying as partly or fully conservative. Following a short introductory article in February 2025, detailed findings were published in the March 2025 issue under the title “Forget Everything You Assume about Conservatives!”. The results suggest that younger conservatives strike their own balance between traditional values and modern life and do not fit familiar stereotypes on many issues.

Key findings

  • 79.3% identified as “partly” and 20.7% as “fully” conservative. 68.2% said they tried to balance traditional values and modern life, while 21.2% felt closer to traditional values. 53.5% believed changes in modern life affected their traditional values.
  • 72.7% did not drink alcohol; of these, 70.8% had never consumed it. Attitudes towards smoking were more flexible. Free time was mainly spent with family.
  • Kahve Dünyası was the most visited café/restaurant (20.7%); 15.3% said they never visited such venues. Expectations centred on “quality at a low price”, and halal certification was regarded as essential for food. Samsung was preferred for phones and Togg for cars. Trust in domestic brands (44.9%) was markedly higher than trust in global brands (17.7%). Brands attentive to social issues had an advantage.
  • Family and traditional values were sensitive areas; LGBTQ+ rights were not supported. Women could work but were expected not to neglect their families. 52.8% of women and 60% of men said women could socialise without neglecting their families. Religious and traditional approaches were widely seen as “correct and sufficient”, while younger people were moving towards modernisation.
  • Pop music ranked first (43.4%). The most watched series were Gönül Dağı (10.2%), Kızılcık Şerbeti (9.9%), Teşkilat (9.1%), Uzak Şehir (9.1%) and Kızıl Goncalar (5%).

Methodology

Conducted with 600 people in February 2025. The sample comprised people under 45 who voted for conservative parties and identified as partly or fully conservative.
